Know Your Customer (KYC) Policy
SEI Petroleum applies a structured Know Your Customer (KYC) process to all counterparties — buyers, sellers, agents, and intermediaries — prior to initiating any commercial relationship or transaction. This process includes verification of legal entity registration, beneficial ownership identification, and assessment of the counterparty's business activities and regulatory standing in their jurisdiction. KYC documentation is maintained on file and subject to periodic review for ongoing relationships.
We do not engage with counterparties who are unable or unwilling to provide complete and accurate identification documentation, or whose beneficial ownership structure cannot be satisfactorily verified. Any counterparty identified as presenting elevated risk is subject to enhanced due diligence procedures before any trade proceeds.
Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Procedures
SEI Petroleum operates in full compliance with applicable EU Anti-Money Laundering Directives (AMLD), UK AML regulations, and national AML regulations in Romania and Poland. Our AML framework requires that all payment flows associated with a transaction are consistent with the stated commercial purpose, and that payment counterparties are verified as matching the contractual counterparty on file.
We apply transaction monitoring procedures to identify patterns or payment instructions inconsistent with normal commodity trade flows. Any transaction that raises AML concerns will be escalated internally and may be suspended or reported to relevant authorities in accordance with our legal obligations. We do not facilitate or accept payments routed through unrelated third-party entities without satisfactory explanation and documentation.
Sanctions Screening Policy
SEI Petroleum screens all counterparties, vessels, jurisdictions, and cargo origins against applicable EU, UN, and UK sanctions lists prior to engagement, and at regular intervals throughout the duration of any commercial relationship. This includes consolidated EU sanctions lists, UN Security Council resolutions, UK OFSI designations, and other relevant international restrictive measures.
We do not engage in transactions involving designated persons or entities, sanctioned jurisdictions, or cargo of sanctioned origin, regardless of the legal framework or waiver applicable in any third country. Our compliance position is governed by the laws of Romania and Poland as EU member states and by UK law. All applicable EU and UK commodity trade restrictions are observed in full. Counterparties are expected to confirm their own sanctions compliance status as a condition of engagement.
Data Protection Policy
SEI Petroleum processes personal and commercial data in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable national data protection laws in Romania and Poland. Personal data collected through KYC, AML, and commercial onboarding procedures is processed solely for the purposes of counterparty verification, regulatory compliance, and legitimate commercial operations.
Data is stored securely, retained only for the period required by applicable regulatory obligations, and not transferred to third parties except where required by law or expressly authorised by the data subject. Individuals may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data by contacting our compliance team at the address below.
